Ron Mayhew began his Journey as a minister/teacher over 50 years ago. Ordained and licensed by the Baptist Church, Ron says he was ready to save the world. After serving a church in south central Kentucky his vision changed. He felt his own spiritual yearning leading to a different path.
In 1979, Ron moved, along with his life partner, Clarice O’Bryan, to Bloomington, IN. Ron and Clarice founded two spiritual centers in Bloomington, “My Father’s Business” and “The Sunday Alternative” while also facilitating, A Course in Miracles, study group. In 1985 Ron and his wife moved to Owensboro, KY and formed another ACIM Group, Clarice began her work with the “Women of Delight” and the Sacred Oak Grove Labyrinth was opened for walkers and pilgrims in 1997. Currently a student in the Spiritual Enrichment Education Program of Unity Ministries. After walking through the doors of Unity Church of Evansville in 1998, I fell in love with the members and the principles of Unity. I became an active member and in 2002. I decided to obtain my bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies in order to register for classes to become a Licensed Unity Teacher. I graduated in 2005, but life had a hand in redirecting my plans away from my dream in order to help a friend through her transition. I have been serving as administrator of Unity of Evansville for a total of four years. Working for over twenty-five years with the public has given me insight into the world and all its diversity as well as its sameness. I have been a school bus driver for twenty-one years and drove the city buses for five years. In all this time, I also obtained my real-estate license and helped families find their dream homes. I find such fulfillment in being a part of other's desires and helping them come to be. I know my Purpose is to be a light at Unity of Evansville and to teach this congregation and myself the wisdom of Charles and Myrtle Fillmore. I feel blessed to have this opportunity open up to me and to have made a conscious decision to awaking to the Christ that I AM!
